About Us

MISSION
We are on a mission to place philanthropy back where it belongs — in everyday moments, in ordinary hands, and in everyone’s heart — inspiring people of all ages to help build a culture of care, and with a special focus on empowering young people to connect, care, and act within their communities and beyond.
VISION
We envision a world where the true spirit of philanthropy — the love of humanity — transcends generations, boundaries, and borders, becoming a joyful part of everyday life: at home, at school, at work, and in the world.

Born and raised in New York City, Deborah Tomasi has spent her life championing the overlooked and uplifting everyday heroes,
Her 30 years of leadership in the New York City real estate reflects a deeply rooted commitment to both professional excellence and community impact—honed through decades of navigating one of the most competitive and sophisticated markets in the profession.
As founder of Defeat the Streets, a youth-driven philanthropic initiative launched seven years ago, she has worked to reimagine philanthropy as a culture of care.
She has also served as an Adjunct Professor at NYU for over 12 years, mentoring the next generation of real estate professionals.
A storyteller at heart, Deborah is a former produced playwright and the author of an upcoming debut novel. Her creative roots fuel the mission of Defeat the Streets, a youth-driven initiative that blends empathy, leadership, and action to ignite a culture of care.
She believes that consistent, small acts of giving hold the power to spark transformational change—and that when young people are empowered to lead, they can reshape communities and reimagine what philanthropy looks like.
